The Service: The Shipley Team helps young people who are homeless or wish to move in Shipley or Baildon through the Supported Tenancy Scheme.
Please Note: We do not send out housing application forms.

How it works: There are regular drop in sessions in which young people can refer themselves to the scheme. Agencies can also make referrals on behalf of the young people.
Please Note : We cannot process referrals through e-mail. If you wish to make a referral of a young person, please send a FAX or get in touch through the telephone.

What happens next: Once the appointment has been made, the young person will be interviewed to assess their eligibility to the Scheme. They will then sign an agreement and go on the waiting list. During this process they will be helped through with Housing Management, Budgeting as well as look into Education, Training and/or Employment.

After a place has been found, the young person will become a Supported Tenant for a minimum period of 6 months, during which workers will guide them through towards establishing themselves as Secure Tenants. Supported Tenants are strongly encouraged to keep regular contact with the Shipley Team.
Tenants who have qualified for Resettlement will have an approximate of 8 more weeks of assistance.
